The Power of Stillness
They say sleep is a poor cousin of death. Each night, when we sleep, the burdens of this world all lie down, and become weightless in the unseen realms.
Stillness carries the same power, the only difference is that you are not sleeping, but fully awake in the presence of the Divine. It is the soul’s way of returning Home without leaving the body.
When you enter stillness, you step outside time and taste a sip of eternity. The identities you cling to—your fears, stories, successes, failures—lose their grip.
The soul rises beyond the script of this incarnation, and remembers its ancient, eternal nature. In stillness, you do not escape life—you transcend it returning to the place within you where God, peace, and your true self are all one.
It's in stillness you meet your Creator!
The power of stillness!
God did not ask for rituals, chants or prayers. All He said was: Be still… and in that stillness, you will know Me.”
Busting Myths About Stillness & Meditation
For many people meditation appears challenging. It is often seen as something serious to be done and controlled. On the contrary, meditation is actually a beautiful state of peace, a sense of inner flow and play that allows one to go deeper and be in the vibration of Oneness and Divine quiet. Let's bust some common myths:
The first common perception is that meditation has to be done sitting cross-legged, spine straight, hands placed a certain way. In reality, meditation is more personal, relaxed and effortless.
When I sit for meditation, I start off with the cross-legged posture taking slow deep breaths, doing alternate-nostril breathing for one or 2 breaths. To be on the safer side, say a short protection prayer.
After that I loosen up and sit in a relaxed position with my knees up, resting my hands on them just as one would sit around close friends. I even change my positions. Stillness begins where strain ends! 😊
Whenever my face is too serious, my guides tell me, “Julia, smile first.” I then break into a smile.
Once I sit in this smiling relaxed posture, I just drift away. I don’t force myself to focus. I just let it be. And then, gradually, it opens up my senses to the higher connection.
Be open to wonder and receive with awe the messages and communication that arrive even if it defies logic at that point.
You can ask questions, too and the answer will be placed in your mind. On some occasions nothing comes through, which is also fine.
Sometimes, I use my imagination to feel like I’m leaving this world and nearing the pearly gates of heaven. This imagery supports my meditation as it helps me access this very world.
Stillness & Meditation is not about maintaining a rigid outer state for hours; it’s all about having a soft, open and trusting inner state where you maintain a natural connection with the Divine and your guides.
As you maintain a fixed schedule, your practice becomes effortless. Your guides know when you’ll arrive — and they meet you there.
Meditation cannot be forced on anyone. I myself started on this journey in August 2021, after my mother's death. Like in all spiritual things, the call comes when the soul is ready.
Meditation is our enchanted link with the heart of God. What can be more beautiful than this? :)
