The Tree of Peace shines on the golden sands of Goa

Cultivating Peace - one leaf at at time 

After wowing visitors at Vasai Virar, Maharashtra the Tree of Peace recently made its debut on the golden shores of Colva and Majorda beaches in Goa.

Amidst the lull of waves and the gentle rustle of palm leaves the symbolic Tree, delicate in appearance yet carrying a magnetic spirit gifted us some surreal moments.

One such memorable moment was a kind gentleman who, after observing our Tree of Peace, wrote his definition of peace in one word: "Maa," meaning mother.

The Tree of Peace gets a myriad of responses, from curious stares to skepticism to wonder and awe. While some ignore our requests, a smiling woman, gravitated to the tree, handing over her tiny infant baby to her husband just to write her message!

Another moment involved a father-son duo who engaged in a heartfelt discussion about peace before sharing their message.

“Each time a leaf with a message is handed over to me it transforms the very ground I stand on. Such is the magnetic power of peace transforming the world from the inside to the outside,” shared Julia Fernandes, Founder Whisper for Peace. 

The team right now comprises of her supportive immediate family members. Says Julia, "The support and active participation of my family members in my Tree of Peace initiative has been so organic that it makes me believe that Peace is very contagious."

The Tree of Peace is a unique grassroots level movement wherein individuals share their heartfelt peace messages on paper leaves which are then hung upon the Tree of Peace as a beautiful gesture of cultivating peace – one leaf at a time.

The Tree of Peace continues its journey with pre-destined places and people waiting for it to arrive!
