Even Enemies Are God’s Creation

A Divine Warning Against Rejoicing in Destruction

According to the Talmud, (Megillah 10b and Sanhedrin 39b), when the Egyptian chariots and soldiers began to drown, the angels wanted to sing a song of praise and celebration to God.

However, God silenced them with a sharp rebuke: "The work of My hands is drowning in the sea, and you wish to sing songs before Me?"

This story serves as a reminder that even your so-called enemies are human beings created by God. And the loss of life is a tragedy, and not a cause for celebration.

This is in stark contrast to reports and images of soldiers filming and celebrating destruction.

Perhaps, the wisdom from Book of Proverbs 24:17 has long been forgotten: “Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, lest God sees it, and be displeased and turn away His anger from him…” 

Nature Unleashes God's Fury

God has many ways to unleash his fury - the closest being nature.

"There are winds that have been created for vengeance, and in their anger they scourge heavily. In the time of consummation, they will pour out their strength and calm the anger of their Maker.

Fire and hail and famine and pestilence, all these have been created for vengeance; the teeth of wild beasts and scorpions and vipers, and the sword that punishes the ungodly with destruction.

They will rejoice in His commands, and He made ready on Earth for their service, and when the time comes, they will not transgress His word. Sirach 39:28–31

We are already seeing the signs - Covid, climate change, natural disasters, unusual weather patterns. World Leaders, move in the direction of Peace and Co-existence before its too late.
